| Abstract | In 2009 some of my friends left the institute, where we had been working together
for more than teen years. Lacking of competent employees the institute have to face many
problems. From myself I would like to know core reason of their leave, and furthermore,
how to retain talent.
This is such broad scope so my study just concentrates on impact of human
resource policies to competent employees’ satisfaction and commitment. Three human
resource policies involved the study are salary policy, welfare policy and training policy.
Based on feedback from competent engineers and result of individual interview, the study
compiles quantitative analysis method with some qualitative methods of interview.
From the study, I find out that there are some gaps between existing human
resource policies in the institute and those in other oil and gas companies. Distribution of
salary is ineffective, and so, it doesn’t encourage competent employees. Welfare policy has
problem in providing accommodation allowance for engineers. The training course is not
specified to meet demand of employees.
The reform of human resource policies is proposed to take place. The variable
salary is proposed to base on effectiveness of employees’ work. The welfare should pay
more attention on accommodation for competent employees. The training should be more
diverse and satisfy employees’ demand. |
