| Abstract | Nowadays, fossil fuels such as coal, oil are becoming exhaustion and the world is facing
environmental pollution seriously caused by burning fossil fuels. Hence countries tend to find
clean power sources to replace conventional power sources, wind energy is one of
replacement power sources. In the world, wind energy is the most important renewable and it
has been developing dramatically with 27.6 % of average annual growth rate in new install
capacity in period 2005 – 2010.
Vietnam locates in monsoon zone and has over 3000 km of coast line, so Vietnam has a huge
potential of wind energy. To be aware of important role of wind energy in sufficient
electricity, the Vietnamese government issued policies to develop wind power. However, the
policies need to be reviewed and amended to support wind energy development
corresponding to the potential. |
