| Abstract | Being a pioneer in oil and gas exploitation, exploration and production is challenging to
Vietsovpetro Joint Venture. Although the company is established by two governments
Vietnam and Russia and strongly supported by their policies but it has to face challenge in
terms of competitiveness and development. After brilliant time while the company’s
production reached its peak of 13.5 million tons crude oil in 2002 year, a serious difficulty
is coming up with continuous decline of crude oil production. Besides, as time passed as
the ageing of the structures offshore platforms is concerned by the company for the secure
reason, therefore maintenance and inspection of the structure offshore platform are very
importance duties of Vietsovpetro in the future period.
The research uses quantitative/qualitative approach with questionnaire and in-depth
interview among the related engineers, experts and some managers in the field of
engineering design, construction and operation of the structures for collecting necessary
information or verifying it.
With obtained knowledge from iEMBA-AIT course and having many experiences in the
engineering design, construction, assessment and inspection of the offshore structures, the
researcher try to identify, analyze and solve the problems happening in VSP in order to
make Inspection Management System more efficient and effective. The research could be
considered as a lesson learnt from both theory and practice, and its outcome can be
successfully applied for the further project as well as it meets all criteria of the project
management concept and company’ needs like good quality, less time and cost
effectiveness. |
