| Abstract | Hatien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company, which has a long history, is a leading cement
company with a market share of approximate 30% in the Fourth area (Ho Chi Minh City
and some adjacent provinces). Besides that, Hatien 1 is assigned a special task by Vietnam
government: regulate cement supply in the market it joins.
The mentioned area is the largest market in Vietnam with consumption volume of 23.6%
vs. the whole country and the demand of its products is growing year after year. In such a
rapid growing market, besides the limited production capability, Ha Tien 1 has some real
challenges with raw materials. This induces great pressure to the whole organization,
especially the Logistics and Purchasing Department. Moreover, Ha Tien 1 has been
expanding with 2 big projects of new plants, which will be put into operation at the end of
2009. Therefore, the operations of the Logistics and Purchasing will be harder and more
complicated.
Back to this company project, it is new to Ha Tien 1 because until now only projects
relating to technology and manufacturing have been carried out. |
