| Abstract | Nowadays, construction has developed so rapidly that almost all the companies use
diversified technology methods to work, manage, manufacture, do transactions, and so on.
Construction companies are emerging at a phenomenal speed, drawing qualified human
resources from each other, which causes the job jumping situation of technical staffs and
creates high turnover at the companies.
Labor force turnover has become serious as the demand of technical staff increases around
30% for each year, equivalent to 30,000 workers, while the graduated from education and
training institutions in Vietnam are 10,000 more. It can be seen that the gap between
supply and demand is rather wide.
This study is focusing on HR, accommodation policies of Project Supervision Dept at Ha
Tien 1 JSC. The results also reveal that the reason of the high turnover rate and the HR
shortage of the company from company’s policies, performance, working environment and
particularly employees’ knowledge and skills. For construction companies, to be assured
that they are achieving good performance and staff’s loyalty, they need to enhance
employees’ welfare and career advancement through consolidation of policies. |
