| Abstract | In the modern science of business management, people always are core value and plays an
important position in every business strategy. Improving life quality of employees is not
only a strategy to gain the loyalty from employees, but also a sustainable development
strategy and therefore enhancing the competitiveness for the company. Henkel understands
this and the company has its strategies and commitments to improve work-life balance for
its worldwide employees, in which flexibility working arrangement is one of the key
strategy to create flexible working condition but still improve productivity of its people.
When the strategy comes to Vietnam, it could not be implemented successfully. The goal
of this project is to discover the obstacles that prevent Henkel Vietnam from enabling
flexibility working arrangement. Through two surveys, there are some barriers were
finding about awareness of employees, the company culture and the concerns of
empowerment of management team in Henkel Vietnam.
From the understanding of Vietnam local situations, solutions are introduced. In which
foremost to emphasize the importance of improvement the awareness of local employees
and then to reform the working process which needed contribution from both managers
and employees. Then to build company culture and develop policies. Last but not least, to
prepare information and communication infrastructure to these entire strategy.
Due to time and financial limitation, this study may not have the chance to survey widely
or plan more detail to develop flexible working arrangements at Henkel Vietnam.
However, its results could be the essential base for the company preparation for the future. |
