| Abstract | Human resource is the most importance asset of a company which the success of most of
today's businesses depends on. In the current "Knowledge Era", intellectual capital-the
unique knowledge and skills possessed by a company's work force, defines the company's
competitive edge. Customer satisfaction is also one of the most important factors in
business survival and growth while it is employees who are satisfied with their work and
their company create satisfied customers. Moreover, employee turnover rate is nowadays
becoming increasingly high and cost of turnover turns to be higher than retention cost. For
the above-mentioned reasons, the retention of good employees becomes a critical issue
faced by many companies.
HiPT Group is not an exceptional case. For the recent years, the rate of turnover at HiPT
Group has been increasing and drives the Group into difficult situation. It is time for HiPT
leadership and management to pay more attention and priority to staff retention.
This research is conducted to identify the root causes of high staff turnover at HiPT Group
and determine the gaps in the current human resource management practice which should
be improved. Finally, specific solutions are recommended to improve the effectiveness in
human resource management practice at HiPT Group so that to increase employee’s
satisfaction and commitment to the company. |
