| Abstract | This dissertation objective is to analyze and gain deeper understanding about credit card industry
in Vietnam by application of Porter's five forces model. Then we will explore the performance
and competitive advantages of HSBC Vietnam Credit card business, a part of the Retail Banking
and Wealth Management Division of HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Limited. This is followed by a
discussion of the analysis results and limitations. Also, some proposals are suggested for HSBC
to play a part in the improvement of fundamental retail banking knowledge for Vietnamese
customers, have better understanding of clients' behaviors, create the more competitive merchant
management scheme, develop SMS credit card transaction alert service, implement the payroll
program of corporate employees with the aim of increasing the HSBC's market share in
Vietnam. Case study and interviews of key managers are utilized to complement the literature
review. Moreover, some papers, journals and other reports have been used for reference. |
