| Abstract | This research develops input statistical models for construction processes that
approximates the underlying standard distribution of the processes. Before the analysis and
design of construction operations can be implemented, the statistical tools must be
understood and applied as a part of input modeling. Modeling an input process is usually
performed by selecting a model, applying a method for solving for parameters and fitting a
sufficiently flexible probabilistic distribution to processes based on sample data. A
precasting operation, which is highly repetitive, is selected for analysis of work task
duration and implementing a standard statistical distribution.
This research presents the application of the CYCLONE model of the segmental
precasting operation at Bang Na Precasting Yard. The model is formulated based on a time
study that was conducted at the precasting yard.
It was found that the underlying probability density functions of various tasks could
take a wide variety of shapes. The most commonly occurring distribution, which was
. found, was the lognormal distribution and follow by the beta distribution. |
