| Abstract | The gas turbine is very impo11ant system of a gas turbine power plant, as it transfers the
chemical energy from fuel gas or fuel oil to mechanical energy for the electrical power
generation.
The purpose of the present study is to emphasize developing and implementing policies
on the preventive maintenance (PM) techniques for the gas turbine in power plant. The
developed models are subject to the real conditions of the system and aim at minimizing the
costs of maintenance of the existing gas turbine generator unit, GT21, in Phu My Power
Plant.
Based on the PM models developed in the past, the models for compressor washing,
turbine blade inspection, and turbine blade preventive replacement are developed to find the
optimal PM schedule, in order to minimize total maintenance cost. Moreover, the model
"Repair/Overhaul/Replacement Decision" is developed to solve the existing problem that
what maintenance action should be done when a failure occurs on important capital
equipment.
Finally, the dynamic programming algorithm for opp011unistic maintenance is then
developed for group maintenance and applied for preventive replacement of turbine blade
and heat shield inside combustor, which can be considered as a two-unit system, to find the
optimal combined maintenance schedule. Using this model, the plant can coordinate with the
operation policies to improve the productivity, reliability of equipments and minimize total
operation and maintenance costs. |
