| Abstract | Internet banking is the process by which bank customers may perform banking transactions
electronically without visiting a brick-and-mortar bank branch. Instead, they can access the
banking services through their bank's web site using a standard web browser. The existing
Internet Banking was developed from several technologies such as Perl, CGI, Java, and
Microsoft. However, in the developer's point of view, some of them might be developed by
utilizing inappropriate technologies. Some might be developed by the integration of different
technologies, and some technologies might be suitable for Internet banking system, but some
might not.
Therefore, this research is to study the technologies of Java and Microsoft in order to develop
the Internet banking system. In addition, the comparative study is done by developing the
prototypes of Internet banking system by using Java and Microsoft Technologies in order to
analyze the strengths and weaknesses of both technologies. The criteria for comparing these
technologies are security, performance, portability, and the development life cycle phase. |
