| Abstract | In this study, author would like to construct log-derived J-function to estimate initial water
saturation, capillary pressure and relative permeability and so on. J-function is normally buildup based on core analysis, but cores were not available in study region, in other hand, taking
core is often very expensive.
Before constructing J-function, two main facies identified, are channel and mouth bar, they are
main sands of oil and gas potential due to good porosity and permeability and also big sand
bodies. Two J-functions for facies were constructed, the results indicate that the pore size
distribution of mouth bars is different from one of channels, it likely relate to existence of high
calcite cement and secondary vugs (dissolution of unstable minerals as feldspars, lithics and
bio-burrows in mouth bar sands), in general, reservoir quality of channel sands is better than
one of mouth bars. |
