| Abstract | Analysis of changing of sediment transport is very vital in estuary projects, such
as development and management of navigation, port and harbours, environment
management, etc. For the Chao Phraya river mouth in Thailand, this problem has been
investigated by NED ECO, and AIT.
This study is aimed to analysis the change in hydraulic regime of the Chao Phraya
river. A hydrodynamic model, RCPW A VE model, sediment transport model are used to
analysis the changing of sediment transport problem along the navigation channel in
Chao Phraya Estuary with various river concentrations, and wave parameters. The grid
system of .1x = .1y = 50 m, which covers a computation domain of 42 km2 is used for all
three model above. A time increment of 60 seconds is used for mud transport models.
The results of hydrodynamic model as wave height, wave induced current and
result of sediment transport model are used for analysis change in hydraulic regime of the
Chao Phraya river. Based on the results and the data collection in the upstream station at
Nakhon Sawwan from 1956 to 1993, two sets of sediment concentrations are obtained for
the past and present conditions and used as sediment transports from the river mouth in
computing siltation in the past and present conditions. |
