| Abstract | Political changes, exchange rate risk and globalization of the markets along-with
regionalization of the trading economies are forcing multinational corporations (MNCs)
allover the world to have a global presence. This not only reduces costs, but also provides
better customer feed-back and diversifies the risks/exposures of the MN Cs
Polytex Corporation Ltd., a chemical manufacturing company, based in U.S.A. chose
Thailand for ventming into Asian markets, especially South East Asia. Once the decision
to come to Thailand was made, the problem was to identify a suitable site within
Thailand which will be ideal for Polytex's operations.
This report identifies the factors affecting the site location decision, both quantitative and
qualitative and compares sites based on these factors using the Brown & Gibson method. |
