| Abstract | In the mobile radio communication system, the distribution of the number of multipath,
the distribution of amplitude and distribution of phase are varying with terrain and manmade
environment. So, the different types of mobile radio channel are modeled for different
environment. This research study concentrates on a channel model with exponentially
decaying power delay profile. The channel model is modeled as a fortyone rays model. The
delay spread of the channel is changed by changing the decaying factor of the power delay
profile. The range of delay spread considered in this study is zero to two symbols period. The
North American TDMA Digital Cellular Mobile System (IS-54) parameters are used for
simulation study. Simulation results are presented for different types of receiver, Symbol-bySymbol Detector, Decision Feedback Equalizer and Maximum Likelihood sequence
Estimator. The performance of these receivers is investigated by evaluating bit error rate
(BER) as a function of delay spread. |
