| Abstract | A lot more pile load test results on Bangkok subsoils have recently been available
following a rapidly development of big-rise buildings in the recent past. An attempt was made
in this study to review and update parameters to be used in the static limit equilibrium analysis
based on this new set of data and those used for previous work. Screening was made on the
data set used in previous study data which did not have tests be carried out to the ultimate load
or did not have tests be carried out to the ultimate load or did not have proper subsoils data
were screened out.. Data The data are classified into 3 groups: (i) instrumented bored piles, (ii)
driven piles, bored piles, and auger press piles, and (iii) non-pollution piles, steel-H piles, and
steel pipe piles. They were analyzed with respect to capacity and settlement characteristics. For
bored piles, adhesion factors were proposed and earth pressure coefficient Kg was closed to 1.1
K0 and 0.73 K0 for the 1st sand layer and the 2nd sand layer respectively where Ko is earth
pressure coefficient at lest. When only load-settlement curves were available, trial-and-error
method was introduced and showed improper results. Base grouting on bored pile increase in
both end bearing capacity and skin :friction capacity. Improvement of skin friction of non-pollution piles is obviously seen. Skin friction of steel piles coincides the design curve proposed
by TOMLINSON (1969). Plots of normalized load-settlement at failure have a remarkable
trend. |
