| Abstract | This paper considers the problems accompanied by current error detection
procedures in Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) networking process and gives a new
procedure simultaneously using different BIP codes by analyzing the operation of the
existing in-service error monitoring system using Bit Interleaved Parity (BIP). As a result
of discussion, it is proved that this procedure has an effect of reducing the probability of
bit error mis-detection due to overlapping the operation of independent BIP codes. The
numerical estimation of this procedure for random binary code sequences shows the effect.
Furthermore, this paper refers to the extended idea of overlapped BIPs using the
information of some framing bits. |
