| Abstract | The multiple non-linear regression analysis is employed to back analyse the geotechnical
parameters for the Poulos' elastic pile model with slip occurrence between pile
and soil. Young's modulus and skin friction resistance are inversely estimated by the
maximum likelihood function of pile load test data. Not only the means values of parameters
but also the uncertainties of the mean values are quantified by the linearization approximation.
The estimate parameters are then used to predict settlements of pile. To quantify
prediction uncertainty due to uncertainty of the estimated parameters and the model, the
First Order Second Moment Method (FOSM) is used. The pile load test data studied here
is from the Second Stage Bangkok Expressway Project (SSBE), therefore the result obtained
should be useful in this area. |
