development approach for coastal resources management , primarily
mangrove forests; to determine the optimum alternatives for
sustainable use of coastal natural resources; and to suggest policy
initiatives and strategies for planning a nd management of natural

cooper at ion among local authorities, non - governmental organizations
a nd lo ca l people's organizations are essential for coastal area

process at provincial and district levels, supported by a data base
and information system for participatory management of coastal
resources. |
