| Abstract | Performance of cellulose triacetate immobilized activated
sludge was tested with sequencing batch reactor in this study.
By operating the reactor in a mode to develop the characteristics
of SBR, the immobilized activated sludge offered a high
efficiency in the biological nutrient removal. The 98% COD
removal, 96% total nitrogen removal, and 85% of phosphorus
removal were achieved in the SBR process with synthetic
wastewater as influent. Effluent was clear without settling.
Phenomenon of phosphorus release, nitrification, denitrification,
aerated denitrification were observed in this study. |
