| Abstract | A total of 99 piles ( 57 Raymond step-taper piles and 42
Reverse circulation bored piles) load tests data , including
the subsoil information, pile driving records (for Raymond
step-taper piles only ) have been collected from seven projects
at Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan. In this study, three
methods have been used for determining the pile ultimate
capacity namel y: (1 ) the load -settlement data from pile load
tests ( 2) the static analysis ( 3) the use of the dynamic
formulae .
Interpretations by the above methods , show that the
MAZURKIEWICZ method predicted failure loads better from the
load- settlement curves .
The NORLUND analytical method for Raymond step-taper pile
and the static method (Ks= 0.7, TOUMA and REESE , 1976 ) for
Reverse circulation bored pile also made good predictions of
the failure loads . |
