| Abstract | In this study, the existing Geographical Facilities
Management Package is further extended to include map connecting,
map analysis and reporting functions.
The work is separated into two parts: design of data bases
and program modules, and software implementation. The model
geographical information is presented in both raster and vector
formats. Linear quadtree representation is used in the raster
model. Data base design is based on the relational model. The
Jackson Structured Programming (JSP) is used in designing program
modules. Programs are coded in TURBO PASCAL and run on PC/AT
environment with EGA adapter. The system also provides an
interface with QUATTRO Spreadsheet Package. The QUATTRO support
is useful for data analysis. |
