| Abstract | An entrapped mixed microbial cell was prepared as possible
treatment of synthetic chromium wastewater. Cellulose
Triacetate (mono carrier) was used for entrapping the mixed
microbial cells. This type of carrier was tested with synthetic
wastewater with 300 mg/L COD and chromium at concentrations of O
mg/L, 2 mg/L, 5 mg/L and 10 mg/L. The system was operated under
aerobic conditions.
The Mono carrier could achieve a s oluble COD removal
efficiency of above 90% with a detention time of 3 hours. The
average Cr removal in this study was 75% in 2 mg/L Cr feed- influent, 63% in 5 mg/L Cr feed- influent and 48% in 10 mg/L Cr
feed-influent. |
