| Abstract | This study presents the state-of - the-art of the traffic
demand management techniques that could be useful to solve the
traffic problems in the urban center cities. A total of 120
techniques were reviewed and presented in this study that were
being implemented in different cities/countries.
Out of these 120 techniques , 22 selected techniques were
short listed and proposed as a possible solution to help
Jessen the traffic and transportation problems situation at
present in Bangkok. An evaluation was made and the 22
techniques were then finally divide d into 4 categorical
measures namely: a) measures against private car ownership
and operation , b ) measures for bus transit improvements ,
c ) measures for traffic demand pattern improvement, and
d ) measures on the parking .
In the conclusive remarks to the above mentioned
techniques, t h is study recommends the traffic demand
management techniques to b e implemented for Bangkok being
enumerated into 2 stages such as techniques for immediate
implementation and the techniques for future implementation . |
