| Abstract | The popular package for 3D analysis of building systems known as ETABS [l] is
rewritten in FORTRAN 77, to be compiled with FORTRAN VS in Mainframe computer, F77
in UNIX mini computer and MS-FORTRAN Version 4.1 in micro computer. A number of
enhancements are also achieved, including (a) optional free and fixed formats for data input;
(b) establishment of global library of member types; (c) adding earthquake static equivalent
loads and (d) more professional output of stresses. With parameters to be specified by users,
the new package known as MET ABS, will be portable across Mainframe, mini and micro
computers. Finally, comparison of results are made among the three computer environments
and between the free and the fixed format. |
