| Abstract | Presented in this study are comprehensive simulation
models which can be applied to forecast the streamflow in
real - time at selected stations in Wu river system.
The study deals with the

The development of the modeling system to Wu basin with
catchment area of 1981 km2 located in Taiwan is described. The
Wu basin was divided into 4 subcatchments with separate
rainfall and selected gauging stations. The data used in real -
time forecasting were obtained from 13 rainfall stations, 4
gauging stations and 1 evaporation station. The model was
calibrated using concurrent daily rainfall, runoff and monthly
evaporation data. It was also verified using independent data
to assess its predictive reliability. The updating procedure
used for real - time forecasting proved quite effective as the
updated hydrographs were much better than the simulated ones,
however the peak flows were still not simulated very good. |
