| Abstract | In the face of heavily dependent for its commercial
energy supply on imported petroleum, both crude oil and
petroleum products. The study of using natural gasoline CNGL)
as an alternative source of energy substituting gasoline was a
prospect to increased domestic supply for petroleum product in
the country.
As an alternative fuel for spark ignition engines,
performance tests were conducted on a 10 - HP Briggs & Stratton
spark ignition engine coupled to a Zollner- dynamometer AC100
of Eddy-current type. The performance evaluation was focused
on the feasibility of using natural gasoline and blending NGL
with premium gasoline as a fuel. The results indicated that
blending NGL with premium gasoline on the proportion of 50-to50 C NPG55) was a border line of the highest percentage of NGL
in the mixture that can be used as a fuel without any engine
modification. The economic evaluation was focused on NPG55
price and the consequences of its adoption. The results
indicated that NPG55 adoption was faced with a high NGL ex -
refinery price, thus the NGL ex - refinery price was considered
and proposed. Furthermore NPG55 can be substituted for regular
gasoline with saves foreign exchange and supplement for
natural gas (domestic resources) utilization, but have a
reduction in tax revenue. |
