| Abstract | The aim of this study was to design and fabricate a corn
cob gasifier for direct heat applications and evaluate its
performance in order to obtain preliminary guideline for
designing such gasifier for industrial applications.
The gas generated by the designed throatless gasifier of
hearth diameter 35 cm has been found suitable to meet the fuel
requirement of a corn drying industry of 2 . 5 tons per hour
capacity.
An ejector system was used as a substitute for a second
blower to induce suction through the ignition port of the
gasifier during startup. The functioning of the ejector system was
found to be satisfactory. |
