| Abstract | Three private housing estates for low and middle income people in
Greater Bangkok Metropolitan Area (GBMA) were evaluated. The existing
socio-economic characteristics and physical housing conditions of t he
study area were surveyed, studied and analyzed. In addition , the res i -
dents' satisfaction with housing conditions and t heir attitudes toward
their neighbours and neighbourhood were studied.
The housing conditions in these three housing estates were up to an
acceptabl e level of acceptance for in terms of physical structures, sanitation, environmental conditions and community facilities and services.
However, the residents perceived some problem with the water supply , the
security system, recreational and playground facilities. Furthermore,
it was found that the residents were more concerned about the inadequacy
of community facilities and housing services rather than the housing type ,
the number or size of rooms. |
