| Abstract | This study develops a system called Numerical Analysis
Management System (NAMS) which manages 5 classes of tot ally about
45 various numerical methods . They include methods for system of
linear equations, nonlinear equations, eigenvalue and eigenvector
problems, numerical quadrature and interpolation. NAMS is
developed based on a relational framework by view in g input
descriptions and numerical methods as virtual relations.
Furthermore, by viewing a tuple in a relation as a rule. EX SVS, a
production system or rule-based expert system shell, is used to
implement NAMS. NAMS contains about 80 rules to help users select
good methods to meet their various requirements. Moreover, since
NAMS incorporates pre - processing, initial value processing and
post-analysis and gathers a number of excellent numerical
methods, it is expected to be reliable, efficient and useful in
practice. |
