| Abstract | This study covers the analysis of the existing inventory
system, design of computerized system and a partial testing
of an inventory accounting information system for the
physical plant of AIT. The existing system is investigated in terms of data, documents, and information to establish
the necessary objectives and requirement for the system
design. Various problems areas, presently faced by the
system, are pointed out a nd suggestions for improvement are proposed. Finally, a computerized inventory accounting system is proposed. The computerization, together with the information system developed for it, is enabling the system to realize vast A number of programs have improvements in operational functions, planning, and control. been written to migrate the present manual system to computer using COBOL as a host language and Virtual Storage Access Method for the file organization. The proposed system also provides query facilities, that will make available the information most of ten needed by the administration. The
approach developed. in the study could also be used in other
organizations with similar structure and requirements. |
