| Abstract | A procedure for extending rainfall records of a particular station
from the surrounding stations having longer records, and of estimating the
rainfall at any specific point by utilizing the rainfall at observation
stations surrounding it is proposed . A computerized system - so called
Data Retrieval System for Areal Distribution of Rainfall - based on two
statistical methods - Stochastic Model by First-order Markov-Chain Method
and Parametric Model of Distance-Power Method of Interpolation - has been
designed and computer programs applied on a selected sample area was
accomplished. The analysis of the results was also discussed for evaluating
the system. |
