| Abstract | This report describes the computer program development
carried out by the Regional Computer Center of the Asian
Institute of Technology for the classification of the information, recorded on the Computer Compatible Tapes, from the LANDSAT satellites as they pass over Thailand and the Lower Mekong Region.
The RECOG computer program package was selected and
modified for this development work. Three classification
approached employed in the computer are Level Slicing,
Euclidean Distance and Maximum Likelihood decision schemes. To demonstrate the capability of the program, which
covered reservoir, estuary, deltaic area, mangrove area and
road features were selected for the classification. Due to
the difficult classification of the small sub images such as road and water way, an additional technique for image enlargement called the cubic convolution interpolation
technique was added to the package. |
