AbstractThe study covers the implementation of the different stages of the development cycle of low-cost housing. A performance evaluation of two asbestos cement experimental houses built in the Asian Institute of Technology was made through the use of the evaluation criteria and methodology developed from the basis of user needs. Recommendation for the improvement of these units were made possible through the evaluated results and the interview made with the occupants. New designs were then worked out to ensure better housing for the satisfaction of the dwellers. The study also reviews the evaluation criteria and methodology employed in view of its practicality and suitability. Modifications were also suggested to improve the criteria and methodology.
