AbstractThis study is aimed at selecting the appropriate production technology by using Goal Programming, which is a newly developed mathematical technique and is suitable for solving multiple objectives problems. The nature of choosing production technology is first described. Then, the industrial environment in developing countries is considered. For selecting, a systematic methodology is proposed, which involves the for mutation of Goal Programming model and selection decision. Considering in the point of view of economy, a textile firm is mentioned and studied. Sensitivity analysis is done to see the influence on selection of various criteria. Considering in the point of view of social responsibility, a quite important goal-employment - therefore, is discussed. In order to see influence· of variety of goals priorities, the third case has described it\'s selection trend and analysis. Finally, further study concerning industrial development is recommended.
