| Abstract | An oil company has been selected for studying the Truck-Dispatching Problem. An Heuristic Programming Approach is employed and a computer program for the Truck-Dispatching Problem has been developed. Concepts of heuristic algorithm for the Truck-Dispatching Problem and the Traveling Salesman Problem (because of their similarity) have
been introduced. A Truck-Scheduling-Procedure which can improve the efficiency of the present packed product distribution system has been
developed and proposed to the Dispatching Section of the Company. |
