| Abstract | A general study on various aspects of waste stabilization ponds (oxidation ponds) and oxidation ditches have been made. The theoretical approaches have been supplemented by practical examples such as the inclusion of the Asian Institute of Technology\'s oxidation pond,
the Union Soda\'s, Seven Up\'s and a Milk Processing plants\' oxidation ditches. A simplified design exercise of an oxidation pond possibly of serving
a Malaysian town has been done. Finally, a cost comparison study between various biological treatment system has been quoted. |
