AbstractThe objective of this study has been to evaluate the economic feasibility of an interchange at Bangkhen intersection on the Airport Expressway. Studies of traffic were made to explore the benefits to the users of such a facility, the major point considered being direct economic benefits. The study was broadly divided into project evaluation and project formulation. On the basis of functional design, four alternatives were selected for final analysis. A detailed economic analysis, based on the rate of return and the benefit-cost ratio, m1s performed for ouch of the alternatives. The study revealed that any of the four alternatives considered would be economically feasible. The final selection was made considering the principle of maximizing the present worth of future benefits minus future costs. As an aid to the analysis, a general geometric design of the interchange was produced.
