AbstractThe purpose of this study is to suggest a calculation method for the pressure and discharge distribution between individual sprinklers esected in equal distances along an irrigation lateral pipe. The study is based mainly on the publication of A. Benami, who suggested certain monographs for sprinkler calculations with certain neglections. The present study intends to reduce the affect of these neglections to a minimum and to increase by this means the efficiency of sprinkler irrigation. The head losses caused by pipe-junctions in general and Tee-junctions especially are studied. The actual measured discharges and heads at the individual sprinklers are compared with the computed values of Benami and with those calculated on purely theoretical basis of pipe flow. The results obtained are not entirely satisfactory, probably due to not sufficiently accurate measurements and therefore a continuation of the research is recommended.
