AbstractThe interaction of rectangular footings resting on piles with the subgrade is studied. The piles are treated as independent elastic springs while the subgrade is treated as an elastic half-space. The finite difference technique is employed in the solution of the problem. Parametric study is carried out by varying the parameters which characterize the properties of the piles and the subgrade.
