AbstractThe ultimate strength of asymmetrically loaded pipe columns with initial curvature is investigated. The moment-thrust-curvature relationship is derived for an elastic-perfectly plastic material in parametric forms. Numerical integration techniques are employed in solving the nonlinear differential equation of a cantilever column and envelopes of equilibrium curves are obtained by using Horne\'s stability criterion. Column curves and moment-thrust interaction curves are constructed to facilitate the design of pipe columns subjected to asymmetrical loads.
