| Abstract | The prediction model hereto presented constitutes only the ยท two most important parameters in a hydrologic system namely: (a) rainfall and (b) runoff. These parameters were used in the development of a prediction
equation for. the watershed under study. The prediction model based on Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was of the form
Qt = A + Bp +Cp +DQ +SY(T)
t-1 t t-1
Monthly, seasonal and yearly regression equation with the optimal combinations of the dependent and independent variables were searched by a Backward Elimination Procedure employing an IBM 1130 digital
computer. The following criteria were used in the selection of the
best predicting equation. for each period: (a) test of significance of regression coefficients and equations; (b) least variance or standard error of estimate; (c) largest coefficient of determination. Daily historical record of rainfall and runoff were used. The results are shown
and tabulated in Tables 1 and 2. |
