AbstractA study of management control is undertaken in an attempt to describe the specific control system used in a mass production industry, and to identify its operational characteristics. The production system selected for this study is the Goodyear Tire & Rubber (Thailand) Co. Ltd., a multinational enterprise that produces tires for· vehicles, trucks, aerophares and tractors. The Industrial Dynamics approach ·is used to describe the management control process and the operations of the Company ) Based on the results of the study, a conceptual model of management control is proposed for the management problem-solving process. Since the organizational structure and process of a manufacturing firm are causally related to their technology, the concept of mass production is proposed. This concept. enables the enterprise to adjust itself to technological advances, and to improve its competitiveness.
