| Abstract | This research has been aimed at the formulation of a housing program for the population in new cities, with special emphasis on housing environment, users or human requirements, and provision of economical and well planned community facilities. The present and future state of the art in prefabrication industry, as well as the anticipated technological advances, have been projected and discussed. Several European and American building systems have been studied and the opportunity of systems building in developing countries has been investigated. It is suggested that a proper and efficient system for various countries, with a view to the labor, materials and technology situation in that country, be designed and developed. Finally, the feasibility of setting up systems building industries in the archipelago of new city modules is discussed and necessary suggestions are made. |
