AbstractThe product quality assurance system of a process industry has been studied using the existing system in the Bangchak Oil Refinery as a reference. Aim at giving a clear concept of quality assurance system for management , it is viewed as a system containing quality, product, and other organizational departments, and is conceptualized to be analogous to a typical control system. Its activities, managing department, and some of the economic and management aspects are also analyzed systematically. The use of statistical and operations research techniques in modelling quality assurance activities are illustrated in depth. From economy and management points of view, this study has provided a clear picture on how the quality assurance activities can be used as a mean to enhance the profitability of the investment.
