AbstractEquations of circular hydraulic jump for both laminar and turbulent boundary layers are derived and the theoretical results for the case of turbulent boundary layer are checked by experimental results. An equation of inviscid circular hydraulic jump is also derived and its results are compared with those of the viscous jump. The analytical work has been extended to the case in which the radius of the jump approaches infinity; where the results are analogous to those of two dimensional jump. The turbulent flow profile which was derived by Watson (1964) has been checked with the experimental results. Finally, two empirical relationships have been developed for design purpose
