| Abstract | An investi gation is made of a river network wherein the water levels and discharges are determined. The continuity and momentum equations are solved numerically by applying the node and branch computation method as used by the Delft Hydraulics Laboratory. In this method channels are schematized into a network of storage tanks called nodes and a number of connecting channels called branches. Using the concept of node and branch schematization a set of linear equations in finite difference form are developed which was used t o describe the flow conditions. The effects of flood discharges and tidal oscillations results in time variation of stages and discharges along the river network. The time variation of one hour was used in the numerical computation. |
