| Abstract | This report presents the mathematical modelling of unsteady flow in a river network using the node and branch computational technique. This method was used to determine the changes in water levels and discharge at any desire reach along the river. The study involved in the computation made for a typical river network. The governing equations which describe the flow are continuity and momentum equations which are first derived by De Saint Venant. The boundary conditions· involved are fresh water inflow to the lake located upstream of the river channel and the fluctuation of sea water level at the mouth of the estuary. Illustration on the detail computational procedure is present in the report. |
