AbstractA study was made on the determination of the stages and discharges within the river network with a given initial and boundary conditions. A method, called node and branch computation, developed by De Vries et al., (Delft Hydraulics Laboratory) was applied on the flow system. The system is bounded on the upper reach by two lakes each discharging to different directions. These discharges passes through a cut-off, diversion channel and an estuary into the sea. At the lower reach of the system is the sea characterized by a diurnal tide with an amplitude of 1.00M. and a period of 24 hours. The stages and discharges are determined by the simultaneous solution of a set of linearized continuity and momentum equations written for the nodes and branches in the river network.
