| Abstract | This study deals with the methods of solution for non-linear problems with multiple goal s. It summarizes potential strategies in multiple objective decision theory. Four new methods of solution are discussed: First one uses condensation to linearize non-linear goals; second uses
Taylor's series expansion to linearize non-linear goals; third one extends simplex method of linear goal programming to the non-linear separable functions; and fourth one uses 'norm setting' method to solve
multi-criteria problems. Two multiple objective problems, one in water resources planning and other in product mixing are chosen as examples and
are solved. |
